Privacy

Summary for users. Full technical detail lives in the IDE documentation.

Altus IDE is a desktop application. Your source code is stored locally on your machine unless you use features that explicitly sync elsewhere.

When you use AI

With AI enabled, chat messages, relevant file context, and tool results may be transmitted to the LLM provider configured for your session (e.g. via the Altus AI gateway). Provider privacy policies apply to data they receive.

What we do not do (preview)

  • Store your prompts on EcoSystems marketing servers (this website is static).
  • Require API keys in plain settings for signed-in plan users.
  • Apply agent file changes without review by default.

Your controls

  • Disable AI entirely in settings — no LLM network calls.
  • Choose models and modes (Ask vs Agent vs Plan) per task.
  • Review the prompt data policy for phase-specific behavior.
